Anyone living in Higashihiroshima City can obtain a Library Card.

Closed Days
Mondays, national holidays, the first Friday of each month, New Year holidays and special maintenance period. (*There are some exceptions: for example, the Central Library is open on national holidays 10:00～18:00. To know other irregular closed days, please check library Calendar.)

Users’ Guide

  1. A Library Card is necessary to borrow.
    Please apply for Library Card at the counters. When you apply, please show your ID to certify your name and address. It is necessary to show your Library Card every time you borrow books.
  2. Searching & Reservations on the internet are available.
    You can search and reserve books from OPAC: Online Public Access Catalogue. You can access it at https://lib.city.higashihiroshima.hiroshima.jp/WebOpac/webopac/index.do
    *We are very sorry, but this site is available only in Japanese.
  3. Please follow the Lending Limit.

  4. When returning items…
    You can return items to any municipal libraries in Higashihiroshima city.
    There is also a “Book Post” placed at the side of the library entrance. Do not put CDs, DVDs in order to avoid being damaged by other posted books.
